# What is a Read-Only License in XER Toolkit?

**XER Toolkit** offers two types of licenses: **Admin** and **Read-Only** , and while they share a lot of the same powerful features, the **Read-Only License** is perfect for those who just need access to view and analyze project schedules.

Here’s what you can do with a **Read-Only License** :

✅ **Run integrity tests** to ensure your schedule’s quality.  
✅ **Explore fully interactive schedules** , allowing you to drill down into project details.  
✅ **Access comprehensive dashboards** to stay on top of project metrics.

However, the **Read-Only License** does have one key limitation:

🚫 You **cannot upload or share projects**.

This role is ideal for team members who need to **view and analyse** schedules but aren’t responsible for **managing or distributing** them. Typically, an **Admin License holder** , like a **planner or project manager** , will **upload the schedule** to **XER Toolkit** and share it with **Read-Only users**.

This approach not only **reduces licensing costs** but also ensures the **project team** has **easy access** to the **latest schedules** without needing endless **PDFs**!
